Apply For New Fresh Passport-Changes in Rules For New Passport Process 2021


Welcome, Today I share my review with you about when I want to apply for a new fresh passport in 2021.

First of all, as always I want to submit an online application from the government's official passport website.



Things you need for online submission are any one of them from given below-

I suggest you use an Aadhar card for proof of address and proof of birth.

But while you visit the passport office on your appointment date you are mandatory to have two documents if you are non-Ecr category you have to borrow your 10th class mark sheet also.

In a simple tongue, I want to suggest that you have two documents one for proof of address and one for proof of birth.



Passport appointment is of two types if you want your passport within 3-4 days I suggest you take a tatkal appointment, And on another side, if you do not want much faster that I suggest you choose a regular appointment like a general appointment.

In general appointment you got passport delivered within 10 days or 15 days, In minor cases, you got passport delivered within 3-4 days after a successful appointment.




Proof of Address-

  • Photo Passbook of running bank account in any public sector bank, private sector bank, and regional rural banks, the Bank passbook must be three months older.
  • Water bill.
  • Election Photo ID card.
  • Landline or Postpaid mobile bill.
  • Proof of Gas Connection.
  • Election Photo ID card.
  • Spouse’s passport copy (First and last page of the passport that includes the details of the family and mentions applicant's name as the spouse of the passport holder).
  • Certificate from Employer of reputed companies on letterhead.
  • Income Tax Assessment Order.
  • AADHAR CARD
  • Electricity Bill.
  • Rent agreement.

Proof of Age-

  • School leaving certificate/ Secondary school leaving certificate.
  • Birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths or the Municipal Corporation or any other prescribed authority that has been empowered under the Registration of Birth and Deaths Act, 1969.
  • Declaration gave by the Head of the Orphanage/Child Care Home on the official letterhead confirming the date of birth of the applicant.
  • Policy Bond issued by the Public Life Insurance Corporations/Companies which contains the date of birth of the holder.
  • Extract of the service record of the applicant (in case of government servants) or Pay Pension Order (retired government servants) that is duly attested/certified by the officer/in-charge of the Administration of the concerned Ministry/Department of the applicant.
  • Driving license.
  • PAN Card.
  • Election Photo Identity Card.
  • Aadhaar card or e-Aadhaar.




After the appointment in previous cases police officer comes to your home for police verification and sometimes they call you to visit the police station fOr your verification but after now you got some changes in the verification of police for your passport, they verify you online without calling or visiting at your home, In some states police officers visiting now also but in some they verify you online using police departmental systems.

After your Police verification, about 2-3 days depends on different states' timelines and the process of their verification.

You got a mail and a text message also on which you get your passport number and post details like AWB number and tracking details.

If you live in popular cities and like big cities like Mumbai, New Delhi and like other main cities your passport is delivered in one-day depends on different circumstances.

But I live in a rural area my passport is dispatched from speed post and it delivered to me within 3-4 days after dispatching date.
